New boots

We got Anne some boots yesterday for the winter. They are so cute and she loves them too. I am sorry that in all the pictures of my children they are so sloppily dressed, but you moms know how hard it is to keep them looking wonderful.

While I was trying to take the picture of her boots she only wanted to pose sitting, so I got this one too. I think she looks like some kind of cowboy or something.

Christmas is here...finally.

As you can see we put up the Christmas tree this weekend. Actually it is Beate's, becasue we have no room in our "apartment" for ours. Next year though. Anne loved watching it and so did Alicia from her highchair. Anne even helped a little. She tried to fluff the branches with us and put on the ornaments.
That same day Alicia started to stand all alone just holding on to the couch. She seemed to love doing it too.

Tag...I am it!!

I was reading Melinda's blog and loved all that she put down when she was tagged. I learned stuff I would have never known. At the end I saw my name and had to chekc through all the other links she had on her blog to see if there was another Kristin. I am assuming there isn't but if I am wrong I am sorry.

1. I am one of the most patriotic people I know. When my Grandma Jensen was talking to Jared right after we were married she warned him about this. Being here in Germany gets a little difficult at times when I start to really miss America. The things I miss most are the Americans acceptance of new things. Germans are not like that at all. Also I miss the silly and tiny things about the culture. When Jared and I go on American Military bases I have to stop by all the magazines and read them. I even read Yahoo just for the gossip. It is pitiful...I know! I really miss the American tv shows.

2. I love to watch BYU Television on the internet in the mornings. We watched the last conference through that this last time and since then I love it. I love the documentaries, not really the discussions on the scriptures so much. It starts my day off on a good note.

3. I am like Kari and ended up marrying a person with alot of things that I had always said I didn't want my husband to have. I had forever said that I wouldn't live outside the United States. I did say that if I did marry someone who wasn't an American he would have to want to stay in America and live. Well, I married a German-American who lives in Germany, and we have no idea when we will ever move to America. But we want to, as soon as we feel it is the right thing to do.

4. The older I get and the longer I am a mother the more I realize what a perfectionist I am and what a hygenic freak I am. I hate when dishes aren't done a certain way (that probably goes back to the time when I worked at the deli in Macey's). I long to become more of mother and organizer like my mom each day.

5. I hate Germany fashions and refuse to dress my children like that. I pick and buy the clothes that look most American. The German fashion for kids seems to me to look like all the kids are either clowns or witches. It really grosses me out.

6. I have kept a journal since I was 14 and love it. I try to write things in a way that I wouldn't feel embarassed if Jared or my kids read it. Actually I write it so that they can read it and I hope that somehow reading the things I experience will help them.

7. Once Jared is done with his schooling I want to get a Bachelors in Interior Design. I took a class in High School and really love it. When I was still going to college I was working on becoming an Elementary School teacher (I don't know why I hadn't thought of Interior Design yet). About 1 week before I started dating Jared I had decided to change my major and do Interior Design instead. Well, now I just need to do it.

Since I haven't had a chance to email the link to this blog to any of my other friends I can't tag anyone, you all have done it already. I loved reading all of yours though.

Time for Fun

We bought this Stroller to have an extra, more compact one in the car. But Anne seems to think it is her own personal toy. She pushes it around the house and climbs in and out of it. I once even put Alicia in it and pushed her around the house for Anne.

When either Jared or I are putting Alicia to sleep Anne will get one of her dolls or animals also. She will wrap a towel or blanket around it and follow us around, making to same soothing sounds her "baby" as we make to Alicia. She even does this when we aren't putting Alicia to sleep, she is quite the little mother.

Anne calls Alicia "Shisha". When we were coming home from Stake Conference Alicia was crying, wanting to get out. From the back of the car we hear. "Shisha, SHUSH!!!!". I guess she was trying to help but I thought it was hilarious. We will probably tell her that story over and over again as she gets older.

Alicia was playing with Jared the other day and she got her hand in his mouth. She thought this was the greatest thing. It kept her content for quite awhile.

Sick family

I have been kept pretty busy lately with my sick girls. First Anne got a type of croup on Monday. I took her too the doctor and got her medication. Then last night Alicia got a fever. Well, this morning I took her to the doctor. She slept so badly last night. Then only way she would sleep is if either Jared and I were holding her. Jared is still sick but let me sleep at first. I woke up at 3am and found him downstairs on the couch with her. Before we could get to bed Anne woke up and wouldn't go back to sleep. We had both girls in our bed with us watching a movie. We finally got Anne back to bed and then tried to get some sleep too. I had to hold Alicia in my arms while laying down and trying to sleep. Today she is very hoarse and whines constantly. It breaks me heart. I do love how cuddly she is and how Anne is all about her mom right now. It makes me feel very loved. I am so grateful I have Jared and the Dautels to help me.

I am alicia

I love sitting here and playing!

Hello all of you! I am Alicia and I love playing and putting stuff in my mouth!

I also prefer only wearing one sock.

I love to read

Anne has a little colapsible playhouse that she loves to be in. She takes all her books (which is her new passion) and sits in there for along time. She also thinks it makes a great hiding place. Whenever she is supposed to do somethings she doesn't want to she races in there and tries to hide, but often I am quicker. Alicia doesn't like to entertain herself much. But occasionally I can get her in her playpen and she will be content for awhile. She gives the best smiles.
