First Snow of the Season

It has been a while since I have been on here. Partly because there isn't much news, our camera is broken and I just haven't had the time or energy. But this past weekend we did have some fun with the snow that came our way. The girls loved watching it fall to the ground from the windows in our home. Then the next day I took them over to Gma and Gpa Dautel's house to play in it. We don't have an area at our house where they can play.

I got some hilarious videos and cute pictures. I tried to put one of the videos up but it just took too stinken long. So I gave up on that.
Alicia wasn't so sure what she thought of the snow. At times she loved it and at other times she hated it. She had fun anyway.
Anne LOVED the snow. I haven't yet bought her boots or snow pants (hopefully this weekend), but loved it anyway. The cold didn't seem to bother her until she came inside. This was her first real opportunity to play in the snow. All the past years she was too little to really appreciate it.
Next time we want to take them sledding.

I was tagged...enjoy!

The 2nd Edition

I really wanted to make a cake that I could decorate and make special for Jared's b-day. I found out that a friend had a cake form for a stadium and borrowed it. Jared loves soccer and his favorite team is FC Nürnberg) the national team from our city. So I decided to make it their stadium.I guess Anne wanted to help by being the official frosting taste-tester. I think she like it.
We had absolutely everyone helping. Robby and Richy helped occupy the girls, Rike and Beate helped frost and were decorating advisors, and we enlisted Ray to help set up the gummi bears (the soccer players) in a convincing play position.
It is not exactly to scale, but you get the idea. I used sprinkles and things like that that for the spectators.
I loved this picture because it the candles that spell out "Happy Birthday" look like the huge light in a stadium.
One side was dedicated to FC Nürnberg, and the other...
...to FC Bayern-München, the arch rivals of Nürnberg. You can see what Jared did about that.
Even though we ran out of frosting, I think it still was a success and I was very proud of all of us.
