Just Cute

This boy definitely lives ín a house full of girls.

Anne wears an eye patch now, to try and strengthen her bad eye. Alicia really wanted one too, so I let her wear one for a couple hours.

Katie got some bread and decided to share with her brother. I found his bed like this. He had a lot of fun.

Scripture time.

He Did It

Hyrum really wants to sit. I came up with this idea.
He liked it...for a few minutes at least.

And yesterday, he actually did it for a couple minutes. It seems like he shouldn't be old enough for that yet.

Anne went to a princess birthday party for one of her friends. I thought this was a cute picture of her. Side note: Between Anne and Alicia I feel like I have been taking them to so many parties. Not my favorite thing in the world. I sure am glad we just do family birthday parties for our kids. I am not a large group type of person. Plus, they are so much work.

Temple Trip

A couple weeks ago Jared and Ray surprised us all by calling from work and saying that were going as a family to the temple. Since we live in Germany the temple has rooms for people to stay in. So we packed up and traveled up to the temple.
Katie wasn't too happy about the long drive. She wanted to have Violet and Mr. Frog sitting with her. On the way up and back she slept a bit and then was so crabby the rest of the way home.

The kids were so excited about staying at the temple. They were bouncing off the wall. Anne and Alicia stayed in Gma and Bahnka's room. Katie was in a crib, with an opening for her to crawl out of. We turned the opening to the wall, but somehow during the night she figured out that she could move the bed and crawl out. She surprised me by suddenly being in my bed.

Hyrum slept on the floor. We didn't get too much sleep with Hyrum and Katie keeping us awake.

Bahnka took the girls for a walk around the temple while Jared and I took Hyrum for a walk, looking for ice cream. We got there in time for Ray and Beate to get the last session of the day. Jared and I went into one the next morning. It had been over a year since I was able to get to temple. It was wonderful to be there again.

Spring! Spring! Spring!

OK Mandi...what is that from?

Spring was so wonderful this year. One of the best since I came here.
We had a nest right outside one of our doors. It was fun to see the babies when they were born.

I can't believe that I see this view everyday. That field is full of wildflowers too.

The lilacs are everywhere here. They have been out for weeks. They are one of my favorite flowers.

I wish this had turned out better. Sadly, it was overcast or you could see how absolutely bright yellow this field is. I am so glad we don't live in the city.

Mother's Day and Other

Wow, I am only 2 weeks behind. But I am getting there.
Saturday morning before Mother's Day Jared and I made Beate a wonderful breakfast. Ray made us ladies a delicious breakfast the next morning. I woke up to the smell of bacon. Jared and the girls gave me some beautiful jewelry and chocolate. They know me so well. On our return trip from America Jared bought me a Kindle for our Anniversary/Easter/Mother's Day...for probably the next 2 years. I have loved it and used it so much. It even has a pretty pink cover.

The rest of Mother's Day was just slow and relaxing. Jared and his dad always do a great job making us feel special. Thanks!!!!!!!

In pre-school they had been practicing a song to sing for the mothers. They even had these cards with the lyrics to give us. I was so proud of them. They did so good remembering all the words and the tune. We made them sing it about 7 times to different people.

And now for the bits and bobs. He can hold his own bottle now. This makes my life a bit easier.

They were playing baseball with a badmitton racket and a ball.

We have started our garden. This year it is just tomatoes, zucchini and beans. I have discovered a real love for gardening. More pictures of that to come.

The poor girl slipped off our bed and hit her nose on my nightstand. I didn't notice the blood until several minutes later. Didn't phaze her much though.

More Random

We loved having Richy around for a week over Easter Weekend. He makes me laugh and the kids just love him.

When Hyrum goes to sleep he always clasps his hands together like he is praying. Didn't his blanket turn out great!!

Alicia vacuumed for me one day. I was so impressed that now it is her job to vacuum after dinner.

We were working on our yard. Bahnka started cutting out the dandelions and putting them in a bucket. Cute Katie, sat down and was putting them in for him. Without being asked. What a sweetie.

Thanks Gma for the cute kangaroo crafts. They loved them and learned what a boomerang is.

They were swimming in our kiddie pool. I did this same thing on our driveway as a girl when we would run through the sprinklers.

Uncle Richy forgot to close the straps to keep him in place, and this is how he ended up.

And a picture of Katie with Violet. And the girls are wearing nightgowns that their great-grandma sent them.

Spring Birthday

Alicia had another birthday. She is such sweet girl and loves to help me and take care of her siblings. She has really grown up a lot in the past year.
I made these cupcakes and she ended up taking them to pre-school when they celebrated her bday. The kids in her class got so excited when they saw them. I think they are kind of cute too.

For lunch Bahnka and Daddy made pancakes, like she requested.

For her B-day dinner she had asked for pizza. Easy enough. And it tasted good too.

This is a pillow with a picture of Jesus and children on it. It is from the primary. Anne got one last year for her b-day and Alicia has been so excited to get one ever since. You can see how happy she is.

She said she wanted a pink pony for her birthday. Uncle Richy came to the rescue. He found these the day before he flew over. She was so excited she didn't even care that they weren't really ones.

The Schulzes help us celebrate. Sara made this cake, then together she and I decorated it. Jared got the glittery cake writers.

Alicia is so happy to be 4 years old now. She feels like such a big girl.
