Stake Primary Fasching

Our stake Primary had its annual Fasching party. My girls were a bit hesitant about the wholething when we first got there. I think it was because there were so many people their. Anne got over it enough the dance and do musical chairs. Eventually Alicia even did a group game, then really loved dancing. Of course the food was a hit. They really loved the activity stations.
Alicia and this little girl became friends right away.

Playdate in February

We had a fun playdate at the house of one of Anne's friends. Thought you might enjoy some pictures.

This veil was a big hit.
I love the lip gloss being used as nail polish.
Katie loved this car and I had a hard time convincing her to play with anything else.

Valentine's 2011

Sweet Daddy brought his girls something for Valentine's Day. They all roses and matching sweaters.
I got a bouquet of our special roses. He sure knows what I like. And because I get up in the middle of the night with Hyrum and get cold, he got me some more cute pajamas to add to my collection. To top it all off I got the best chocolate in the world. I sure love this man.

All us adults celebrated that evening with our 2nd annual Valentine's dinner. I have found recipes for fettucine alfredo and Olive Garden's famous salad dressing. Jared was in charge of dessert and he made us chocolate mousse and decorated it so beautifully. I also made homemade orange lemonade. When the men got home from work all us adults worked together on the meal and getting the table ready. I couldn't have done it without them.

I was so excited to get these streamers up. Alicia helped me, by handing me the tape and telling me which color came next. She loved being involved. I turned out quite nice and is still hanging.
We put Katie to bed and got a movie and popcorn for the older girls. Hyrum slept in his swing, while adults enjoyed a fabulous meal and child-free time together.

Our Big Girl

Our baby girl really isn't a baby anymore. I can't believe how grown up she is.
Cute little Sara made a bday cake for Anne when we had our afternoon with them. We have the best friends in the world!!!

Our family celebration was a lot of fun. Anne told absolutely EVERYONE at pre-school and church that her bday was coming. The following Sunday she got gifts from people. That girls knew exactly what she was doing.
In the morning I took muffins to pre-school that Gma had made. All but a few got eaten. She got this cute hat that she decorated. You can see it in the following picture. That afternoon she went to the optomotrist with Alicia. Guess what!! The girl needs glasses and bad, too. You can all a picture of them when they are done.
I asked her what she wanted for her bday dinner and she said "Basketti". That would be spaghetti in adult language. That is one reason I love this girl. She loves simple things. Her Bahnka made it.

I think she loved everything about her bday and the rest of us had fun too.

Lunch Date

After church on Sunday we headed over to our friends' house for lunch and fun. They have 2 boys about the same ages as our girls. Anne and Alicia were so excited. They love play dates.
Sara had some fabulous cookies she brought home from Italy. They were so good. Katie is our little muncher. She would snack on things all day long if she could. I had to take this picture, because this is her trying to sneak some cookies. She thought that if she didn't look at us, we might not notice her taking them.

Her and David passed this piece of toast back and forth, each taking a bite then passing it back.

Uwe and Sara decorated Marco's room using hand prints from all their visitors. Our kids got to do their handprints too. We ladies talked and shared decorating, kids nad crafts. The men played some games and the kids had the best time playing together and seeing new toys. Marco, Anne and Alicia even watched a bit of Singing in the Rain with Jared's iphone.

Super Bowl

Because of the time difference we watched the Super Bowl in the middle of the night. Jared actually woke me up.
Since our selection of store-bought treats is more limited here I made our treats from scratch. Which was actually really fun. I planned the menu weeks in advance. I don't really like daily cooking, but I love trying out new recipes and special meals and desserts are my favorite. I get most of my recipes http://www.allrecipes.com

Jared helped me make the food the in the afternoon and we pulled it out at game time. I have to admit it tasted really good. We had: seven-layer dip, taco cheeseball, pigs in a blanket and lemonade...all homemade. I can't to make it for my family in Utah come March.

We missed the national anthem, but I read that it was a disaster. So when we weren't too impressed with The Black-eyed Peas' half-time show (the Tron-inspired costumes of the dancers were the best part), we watched Christine Agiulera make a mess of the National Anthem. It was not a proud moment. But it was fun to watch American Football again. It is about the only game I get to see each football season since we live across the ocean. It was a great memory.

I thought I would include some cute pictures.

More Sweet Moments

I have seen a lot these bird feeder around the neighborhood and really wanted one. Katie is really fascinated by animals. Every animal is a "doggy". She growls when you ask her what a doggy says. I thought she and the other girls would love watching the birds as come to the feeder.
